Loved Ones of Maame Esi Yaaba couldn’t help but read heart warming tributes to her. Tributes from her children and the church were read to honour her.

TRIBUTE BY CHILDREN
The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart, the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. (Isaiah 57:1-2 NIV)
Death is only a beginning, our new birth begins with death, our life in the next age begins with death if we die. To us, death is only a beginning. Death is weak; its sinks are weaker the day the Lord Jesus rose from death, death was disgraced.

The loss of our dear mother, in the Lord, is a hope for a certain re-union one day. In all, we rejoice to know that the Lord is with those that are grieved. Suffering has ended, pains have subsided. There is a silent place where a soul lives today and not even tears of the living can bring her back because where she is, is a better place than where she left.
Sister, as we affectionately called our mother was very instrumental in the upbringing of all her children. She ensured that ‘her children’s interest was first and hers, last’. She sacrificed her time, money, and everything even if it meant her going through pains just to ensure our welfare. Her faith, prayers, and encouragement helped us to grow in this journey of life. She encouraged us to have faith in God and still strive to reach the highest level.
Although our dear mother did not have formal education, she gave us the best and ensured that we climbed to the highest level. In times of difficulties, she sold her clothes or could borrow just to ensure nothing disrupted our education. This conscious effort to ensure the best for her children did not stop even when one of her legs got amputated. She rose against all odds to ensure that she worked tirelessly even in such a challenging condition. For instance, sometime in 2004 when she was onboard a vehicle to Techiman to sell fish, armed robbers attacked their vehicle, and in the course of their struggles, she had to jump from the vehicle just so she could safeguard some amount of money meant for her children’s school fees. This is how selfless and overly caring she was. She was always there for us and she made us appreciate and enjoy the joys of motherhood. She was vilified so we could enjoy, insulted so we could be applauded. She sacrificed her REST, for our BEST. Sister, why did not you wait for us to buy you the car we promised you? We wished you lived longer to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
Though we were aware of your ill-health, we were nurturing the hope that you will recover. We were willing to do everything to keep alive. Sister, the reality of your death is so painful, the void created by your departure can not be filled. We are sad and can not comprehend why you had to leave us at this time when we had not even given you back one percent of your investment in us. Thank you very much for your constant blessings and keeping us dear to your heart, without you we could not have experienced the fortunes of motherhood, in which there was nothing but love for us all.
Mum, Rest in Peace!!!
Sister, Dei Ferebi!!!

TRIBUTE BY THE EL-BETHEL ASSEMBLIES OF GOD, KUMASI BRANCH, SENYA BERAKU

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know that the way to the place where I am going”. (John 14:1-4 NIV)
Death, the inevitable end of every person, comes when it should and it matters not at what hour or what means the righteous fall asleep.
On the day of 6th November 2020, death laid its icy hand on our beloved and devoted mother and sister, Esi Yaaba, popularly known as Esi Daavi, after she battled with ill-health for some time. As the church, we played our best (with prayers, visits, and support) for her to continue to visit us. Anytime we visited her, she was so confident that her God (as she popularly referred to as “Assemblies Yompo”-(God)) will intervene and heal her. That was our prayer too. But it is not man’s plan which is the Lord’s plan. The Lord had a better plan for her than we thought off.
Aunt Esi Daavi, the Lord is done with your room in heaven so He called you to rest. We would have wished to share and enjoy your life experience with us so that we may continue to learn from you. Esi Daavi, when again shall we see you? “Assemblies Yompo”(God), when will we hear this statement again? Maame Esi Yaaba, may the Good Lord keep you safe in the bosom of Abraham till we meet in heaven. Till then, we wish you fare thee well.

TRIBUTE BY THE WOMEN’S MINISTRY OF EL-BETHEL ASSEMBLIES OF GOD, KUMASI BRANCH, SENYA BERAKU

“Therefore, my dear brothers stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain”.
1st Corinthians 15: 58 NIV
Maame Esi Yaaba, popularly known as “Esi Daavi”, used to be part of the Women’s Ministry. She was a dedicated member of the ministry. Though she could not often make it to meetings (due to her physically challenged condition), she made sure she paid all her dues and other duties that the ministry required of her.
Maame Esi Yaaba, what can we say? If everyone is allowed to give a testimony about you, we will need more time. But all that we can say is may the Lord who gave you time to spend with us, keep you safe till we meet again.
Esi Daavi, Rest in Perfect Peace with the Lord!!!
